The Heart-mind is the seat of our nonconceptual knowing. Mahamudra meditation is the practice of learning how to let things be just as they are—neither grasping & encouraging them nor judging & rejecting them.

In this retreat we will explore practices that observe how our bodies seem to hold emotions and what happens in the body when emotions arise. Our purpose will be to simply allow experience rather than to change, fix, or explain anything. By becoming aware of what is there, we can befriend it in a non-conceptual way.

Within a fairly relaxed schedule, we will observe silence in the mornings, and the days will be filled with guided meditations, discussions, and plenty of time for personal practice in nature. There will be time for personal interviews. This retreat is for practitioners of all levels.

The retreat will be looking through a dharma/meditation lens.
It is not oriented around trauma discovery and therapeutic healing.
There will not be a professional therapist onsite.

No reading is necessary. However, for some understanding of this approach, and the science behind it, I suggest Why We Meditate by Tsoknyi Rinpoche & Daniel Goleman.
