The Essence of Meditation: Letting Go into Being - A Weekend Retreat at SCOL - Zoom
With Lama Eric Triebelhorn
April 11 - 13, 2025
Seeking an introduction to meditation?
Looking for some deeper understanding or inspiration for your meditation?
Do you long for some retreat but cannot miss work?
This weekend retreat—from Friday evening until Sunday lunch—can serve any of these purposes and more! Do not underestimate the power of even just a weekend to enrich your connection to your practice. Stepping outside of our daily patterns and responsibilities to visit our spacious, quiet, and nurturing retreat land for a weekend is always nourishing. Combine that with gentle and repeated opportunities to become more familiar with the essence of our being through guided meditation and we have something even more wondrous!
So much of our unease, self-criticism, despondency, or stress is caused by thoughts and patterns of thinking that we are often barely aware of. These are superficial, often capricious, aspects of our experience of being. Meditation is about becoming more and more familiar with the very essence of our being—that which lies beneath all fleeting experiences and is a source of inherent well-being. This retreat is an opportunity to engage more deeply in this process whether you are looking for an introduction to such practices or are seeking an infusion of inspiration for this path of discovery.
In this retreat we will cover the benefits of meditation, we will experiment with various techniques, and will have time for questions and discussion about the practices. There will be frequent stretch breaks and options to sit on a cushion, in a chair, or lie on the floor. Vegetarian meals will be provided, and each of us will perform simple assigned tasks to contribute to the retreat experience for all.
Looking forward to sharing in this retreat with you!
